Elite Septic Service (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at elitesepticservice.net. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It describes our actual practices on this website. It does not cover information you give us over the phone or in person during a service visit, although we handle that information with the same care.
Information we collect
Information you give us through our contact and quote form
Our website has one form, used to request service or a quote. When you submit it, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The service you selected from the dropdown list
- Any details you write in the message field, which may include your property address or a description of your septic problem
Please only include information in the message field that you are comfortable sending by email. Do not send Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, bank or card numbers, or health information through this form. We do not need that information to give you a quote.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects limited technical information automatically when you visit, through Google Analytics and our web host’s standard server logs. This includes your approximate location (city or region, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you. Google Analytics does not report your name or exact street address to us, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Analytics tracking is turned off for logged-in website administrators.
How we use your information
- To respond to your quote or service request and answer your questions
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on septic and sewer work
- To contact you by phone, text message, or email about the request you submitted
- To keep records of work we have quoted or performed
- To understand which pages and services visitors are interested in, so we can improve the website
- To meet legal, tax, and insurance obligations
By submitting the form, you are asking us to contact you about your request. We may reach you at the phone number you provide, including by text message. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time by replying STOP to a text, or by calling or emailing us using the details at the bottom of this page. We do not send marketing newsletters from this website.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this website.
Service providers we share information with
We share information only with the companies that help us run this website and our business, and only as needed for them to provide that service:
- Our web host stores the website and its database, including form submissions.
- Our email provider delivers form submissions to our business inbox and carries our replies to you.
- Google, through Google Analytics, processes the technical visit information described above.
We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, a subpoena, or a court order, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Third-party services and embedded content
Some pages on this website include content loaded directly from other companies. When that content loads, the provider can receive your IP address and set its own cookies, and its own privacy policy governs what it does with that information. We currently embed:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) for website statistics
- Google Maps for the maps shown on several pages
- A Google Reviews widget (Trustindex) that displays customer reviews
Our website also links to our Facebook and Instagram pages. Those are ordinary links; visiting them takes you to those platforms, where their own policies apply. We do not run Facebook or Instagram tracking pixels on this website.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses a small number of cookies, including analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and cookies set by embedded Google Maps and review content. Our Cookie Policy lists each category, what it does, and how to control or block cookies in your browser.
How we store and protect your information
Form submissions are stored in our website’s database on our hosting provider’s servers and are also emailed to our business inbox. Access to the website’s administration area is limited to people who need it and is protected by individual accounts and passwords. The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so information you type into the form is encrypted in transit.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against unlawful use or disclosure, and we dispose of records containing personal information in a way that makes them unreadable. No website, server, or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep information
- Form submissions: kept while we are working with you and afterward as a record of the job or quote, then deleted when no longer needed for business, tax, warranty, or insurance purposes.
- Email correspondence: kept in our business inbox under the same standard.
- Google Analytics data: retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property, after which Google deletes the underlying visit-level data.
If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.
Your choices and requests
We want to be straightforward about which privacy laws apply to a business our size, rather than list rights you may not actually have.
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) creates privacy rights for Texas residents, but by its own terms it applies only to businesses that are not small businesses as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Elite Septic Service is a small business under that definition, so the TDPSA’s controller obligations and the formal consumer rights it creates do not currently apply to us. The one TDPSA requirement that does apply to small businesses is that we must obtain your consent before selling sensitive personal data. We do not sell personal data of any kind. We are also not subject to the California, Virginia, or European Union privacy laws you may have seen referenced on larger companies’ websites.
Even though we are not legally required to, we will honor these requests as a matter of company policy:
- Ask us what information we hold about you from this website
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your form submission and contact details
- Ask us to stop contacting you
Call or email us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we may keep information we are required to retain by law.
You can also control tracking yourself. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and Google offers a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits to any website.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for property owners and adults arranging septic services. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our form, please contact us and we will delete it.
Texas data security and breach notification
As a business that handles personal information about Texas residents, we follow the Texas Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act (Texas Business and Commerce Code, Chapter 521). That law requires businesses to use reasonable safeguards for sensitive personal information, to destroy records properly, and to notify affected individuals and, in larger incidents, the Texas Attorney General if a breach of sensitive personal information occurs. If a breach affecting your information ever happened, we would notify you as that law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website collects or uses personal information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. If we ever add advertising or retargeting technology, we will say so here before or when we do.
